Artist Statement

I am an Iranian-American visual artist and art educator working as an artist in residence at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. My art includes both representational and abstract paintings, prints, clay sculptures, mobiles, and installations. Key influences on my work include my exposure to art and culture growing up in Iran, my academic training as an artist at the University of Arkansas, and my experience of making art with children. The current focus of my art is on the relationship between visual art and improvisational music.
